School’s Out at Camp @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

What: Enjoy the fun of camp while school is out!

Where: YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc.

Why: President’s Day-school’s closed!

Just a few more details: Activities start at 9 am and vary based on weather and availability; nature walks, games, arts & crafts and more! Please have your child prepared for an outside activity – rain, snow or shine. Breakfast is provided for those who arrive before 8 am. Lunch & snacks are also provided. Participants may be dropped off/picked up at the Ockanickon Dining Hall as early as 7 am and picked up as late as 6 pm. Please be advised that camp day may be cancelled if there is low enrollment. Drop-ins registering on day of service will be charged $60. You may be turned away if at capacity. You can download and print the School’s Out at Camp registration form from our website.

Introductory CSI Class at YMCA Camp Ockanickon @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

Introduction to Crime Scene Investigation for ages 12-18 years old – This is a FREE event and lunch is included! 

Join a group of law enforcement experts in this one day introduction to crime scene investigation. Work with peers to find clues, examine evidence, and learn about the field of forensics. This class is provided free to teens in the community and lunch is included!

Alumni Weekend @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

An opportunity to come back to camp and reconnect with other alumni, for a fun and memorable weekend. Our alumni family is made up of current and past campers at any of our camps, camper families, members, family camp participants, group participants, School’s Out participants, and anyone else with a special connection to camp! Includes meals and program activities with a special Beef and Beer event Saturday evening.

For adults 18+.

Please note,  if you are registering as a couple for Alumni Weekend, discount applies only once per adult couple.

Alumni Saturday (Beef & Beer) @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

An opportunity to come back to camp and reconnect with other alumni, for a fun and memorable day during Alumni Weekend. If selecting Alumni Saturday, you may either register to come for the full day (day starts at 9 am) which includes meals and program activities, or just for the evening Beef and Beer event starting at 6 pm.

  • If you are registering as a couple for Alumni Saturday, Full Day plus Beef and Beer you can select the $45 discount only once per adult couple.
  • If you are registering as a couple for Alumni Saturday Beef and Beer only you can select the $20 discount only once per adult couple.

Family Dinner at YMCA Camp Ockanickon @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Ocky Dining Hall

Family Dinner Night at YMCA Camp Ockanickon! Enjoy a night out with the family – on us!

Doors open at 5 pm with dinner served at 5:30 pm: We’ll do the cooking and the after-dinner clean-up, while you spend some quality time with your loved ones. Enjoy a delicious salad and pasta bar with assorted sauces . Unplug from electronics and indulge in that age-old camp-favorite pastime, s’mores and an evening chat by a roaring fire…lots of fun for the whole family!

6:15 pm: Presentation: The presentation will be about education for the public on addiction, with some specific attention to the opioid crisis. We will have presentations from an emergency room doctor, a narcotics officer, and a recovery coach specialist. We will also be discussing how to get people help who suffer from addiction and discuss available resources for people who need help.

7:00 pm: Dessert: Campfire with s’mores outside! (weather permitting).

This is a FREE event!

Spring Break BOLD and GOLD Teen Adventure Sampler @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

Experience a thrilling three days of adventure in our brand new spring break trip! Build confidence and challenge yourself while enjoying some of the most beautiful back country tripping New Jersey has to offer.  A 3-day canoeing and hiking trip through the Pine Barrens will build camping and leadership skills and surely be the highlight of your spring break. This is a coed trip and open to all students in grades 9 through 12 (ages 13-17). Camp will provide gear and food, and a packing list will be sent out to those who register.

Drop off will be at 9 am on Thursday, pick up will be around 2 pm on Saturday when the trip returns.

Open House @ YMCA Camp Ockanickon

Whether you are a returning camper or first time camper, come out to YMCA Camp Ockanickon, walk our grounds and find out what we have planned for our 2018 Summer Camp season. Take a guided tour of our property, meet with the camp directors, and learn about our exciting new offerings. Our registration staff will be on site to assist those who want to secure a spot for the summer. This is a FREE event!

YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc. is located at 1303 Stokes Road in Medford and is home to camps Ockanickon (overnight for boys), Matollionequay (overnight for girls) and Lake Stockwell Day Camp. Camps provide ages 3-16 with quality programs in a safe, supportive environment.

A 4-day camp held over consecutive Saturdays will take you from beginning to end in a mock homicide investigation. Participants will use teamwork to analyze the crime scene, follow the leads, and interview suspects. Use the most up-to-date detective techniques to solve the crime while learning from experts in the field of law enforcement and forensics.
